Nikon 15mm
f/5.6 Reviews
Posted by Bengt Köhler Sandberg 2013-12-15 Made between 1973-1978 First as with the Non Ai mount but was made with the Ai mount between 1977-1978. Some exterior changes was made during the year of production but the optics remain the same. It was also a really expensive lens and because of this quite few was ever made. Apparently around 2500 non-Ai and less than 1000 Ai version was made. Specs:

Built to the highest mechanical standards so it's really good. Conclusion Hard not to love a amazing lens like this. It has great image at all apertures and the build quality it top of the line. Hardly no distortion which is impressive on such a wide lens. Plus the built in filters are also very welcome and can be very useful if you use b&w film. However it's not a very fast lens and the viewfinder gets quite dark because of this. Focus aid on a older SLR made for manual focus don't work very well at f/5.6 Not exactly a problem because next to everything is still in focus even wide open. Lenses as wide as this do often prone to flare and this is not an exception. Have found that direct flares have looks quite good but backlight conditions can sometimes be a problem. This is also a quite rare lens and are usually expensive. But on the other hand any high end super wide lense rarely comes cheap, new or old. Thumbs up: Image / Build quality Renders Built in filters Thumbs down: Biggest aperture of f/5.6 Quite rare and expensive Backlight Want to help
