Nikon NIKKOR
28mm f/2.8 ai Reviews
Posted by Bengt Köhler Sandberg 2014-12-12 A non-Ai version of this lens was made between 1974-1977. I have here tested the Ai version which have the same optics as the older and it was made between 1977-1981. Was replaced by the Ai-s version which has improved optics and is still being made today. Bokeh Like most NIKKOR lenses this is very well made. All metal and are very well put together so it's solid as a rock. Conclusion Lovely lens at more or less all points. Image quality wide open is nice and sharp and fairly well corrected for a flat focal plane. So no that much corner softness at infinity. Stop it down a little and it goes from good to great and can give some very nice quality images. Bokeh looks also nice and it handles flare and backlight well. Nikkor lenses rarely disappoints and this is no exception. Thumbs up: Image quality Bokeh, flare and backlight Build quality and feel Thumbs down: Want to help
