Viewfinder: Great size and brightness. Info: Right side have light meter info, three led lights with + o - Left side shows which shutter speed is selected. Shutter type: Focal plane Vertical metal blade. All mechanical. Build quality: Extremely good and these are really build to last and most of them still do after 35+ years. Have read that people used this camera in all kinds of extream weather without any problem. So it's apperantly hard to find anything more reliable. Look and feel: Looks like most Nikons around this time which I think looks great. It's really solid and all the buttons and levers feels nice.
Conclusion: I really love this and it have everything i'm looking for in a SLR. Extremely well built and reliable. The view finder and feel is also very nice. Light meter is very responsive and accurate. Can also use a old Soft Release accessory (Nikon AR-1) This is the little silver thing that are screwed on to the shutter button. Maby a little silly plus but it feels more natural to use the cameras with this and I really like it. The camera don't have mirror lock but the mirror goes up when you use the self-timer which is the next best thing. Can use Ai and non-Ai lenses. Light metering for non-Ai lenses are stop down only. Thumbs up: Great build quality and feel Very reliable All mechanical and battary is is only for the light meter. Great viewfinder Thumbs down: Quite noisy Want to help
