Viewfinder: Fairly dark and small compared to other m42 SLRs. Info: Needle for the light meter which showes 1/1000s to 1s Shutter type: Focal plane Vertical metal blade.
Build quality: Very solid and well built. Look and feel: Very similar to many of the other Praktica. But this feel a bit more solid and all the levers and switches have a quite nice feel to it. Conclusion: A good and very well made camera but very similar to many of the other Praktica. The shutter is electronic which is good and bad on these old cameras. Good thing is that shutter speed are usually more precise and the camera also have a auto shutter option and a exposure - or +. But the camera do need a working battery in order to used and it takes a 4.5v battery which is not very common and often expensive. Camera also support so called electric m42 lenses and these have microchips that sends info which aperture is selected to the camera. This makes it possible to have wide open light metering but this will only work on lenses that support this. A lens that don't supprot this need to have M or a preset aperture in order to get a stoped down light metering. Would like to have seen a mirror lock or if the mirror goes up first when you use the self timer. Thumbs up: Build quality and feel Reliable Thumbs down: Mirror lock Fairly dark and small compared to other m42 Can't get stoped down metering on all lenses. Want to help
