Soligor TM Reviews
Posted by Bengt Köhler Sandberg 2014-01-06 Made between 1969 - 1974 It was also sold under the name Miranda TM or Pallas TM. Technical info Lens mount: M42 Shutter: 1/1000s to 1s + B Light meter: Through the lens (ISO 12 - 6400) Battery: One 1.5v SR44 (Only for the light meter) Flash: PC sync connection (X sync is between 1/60 and 1/30) Weight: 670g Changeable viewfinder Takes standard 135 film 24×36 mm negative size. Viewfinder: Good size and quite bright for a SLR with this age. Info: Right side have match needle for the light meter. Focus aid: Microprism Shutter type: Focal plane Horizontal traveling cloth curtain. All mechanical. Build quality: It's a tank and are very well put together. Look, feel and sound: One of the better looking cameras I have tested so far and it has a feel just as nice. The shutter and mirror sounds very mechanical and are quite loud. I think that it suits the camera but other might not like that as much.
Usability: It's a camera that is still a very usable one today. It feels good in the hand and are well balanced. All buttons and dials are well placed but the shutter speed dial feels a little squeezed in. And there are not a not of space for your fingers when you are turning it. Maybe a problem with someone that have giant fingers but not a big one in a normal case. Can't unfortunately not say much about the light meter because this did not work on my copy. Conclusion: What it not to like about this one. It just looks and feels great and still very usable. I don't care all that much about changeable viewfinder but it's nice that you can take it off for cleaning. Thumbs up: Great build quality Looks and feel Reliable All mechanical Changeable viewfinder Thumbs down: Have only small ones Lack of self-timer Loud shutter and mirror Want to help
