55mm f/2.8 Reviews
Posted by Bengt Köhler Sandberg 2012-09-01 Specs: Lens: 55mm Aperture: f/2.8 to f/22 5 bladed aperture Focus: Infinit to 0.9m (3ft) Mount: M42 Covers: Standard 35mm film size (24×36 mm negative) Wide open have good sharpness and not that much corner softness. Also have a little glow effect. Most corner softness and all glow is gone my f/4. Stop it down a bit and this is really sharp. Analogue
B&W film
Build quality Very good and solid. Also very nice in terms of feel, focus is silky smooth and next to completely silent. Conclusion First it's like shooting yourself in the foot by just having a name like that. Don't exactly sound very exclusive. But it's not a bad lens, image quality is good and the build and feel is top of the line. The next to completely silent focus makes this very good for filming and you can focus in a take and not worry about awful focus sound. Thumbs up: Image and build quality Focus smoothness and sound Feel Thumbs down: Closest focus of 0.9m (3ft) Glow wide open (unless you like that effect) Want to help
